EVENTBLOK

Why I am building EventBlok from backstage reality

Most event software is built for registration and marketing. EventBlok starts from the showflow, because that is where the event actually lives on the day.

GEO summary

EventBlok is event software being built by Nicolae Tiberius from live production experience. The MVP focuses on events, locations, agendas, sessions, speakers, showflow, audience front-end, embeds and mobile-friendly delivery, with a longer-term vision for AI-assisted imports, live cue support and producer-first event tooling.

The point

Most event SaaS feels like it was built by people who have never sat on comms five minutes before doors.

It usually starts with registration. Then maybe a landing page. Then maybe a stream embed. Somewhere far away, in a spreadsheet cave, the actual showflow is still being beaten with a stick by a tired producer.

That is backwards.

For the people calling the show, the event lives in the run of show: sessions, speakers, cues, timings, assets, remote presenters, slides, videos, lower thirds, audience moments, sponsor mentions, Q&A, voting, all of it. If those facts drift, the event gets messy fast.

EventBlok starts there.

The problem I kept seeing

Every producer eventually inherits the same monster:

- agenda in one place - speaker data in another - showflow in a spreadsheet - website in a CMS - registration somewhere else - stream on another platform - assets in a folder nobody trusts - client changes arriving by email, Slack and mild psychic disturbance

None of it joins up. The producer becomes the integration layer, manually keeping six versions of the truth alive until the show ends.

I have lived this enough times to know it is not just annoying. It is expensive, risky and unnecessary.

What EventBlok is trying to do

The MVP is focused on the core production spine:

- events - locations - agenda - sessions - speakers - showflow - audience front-end - embeds - mobile-friendly pages

The idea is simple: the public agenda and the production showflow should come from the same structured data. A speaker should not need to be updated in five places. A session change should not create a quiet little disaster downstream.

It is not trying to be everything at once. The first job is to make the basic event structure solid enough that a producer can trust it.

Why it comes from real shows

The JATO Dynamics hybrid platform was a big proof point for me.

That project had a global launch, Livery streaming, speaker bios, awards, voting, polling, a social wall and access from China. I architected the platform with Munib and we built it around how the show actually ran, not around a generic feature list.

That is the lesson I carried into EventBlok.

Good event technology should understand the show. It should know that the agenda is not just marketing content, that a speaker bio may affect the lower third, that a session can have assets, cues and audience interactions attached to it, and that the person on headset needs clarity more than decoration.

Where AI fits

AI is useful here, but only if it is attached to real production data.

I do not want EventBlok to become a toy that writes fake showflows from thin air. I want it to help a producer ingest an Excel agenda, spot missing speaker data, draft a first-pass showflow, summarise sessions, prepare audience content and make the admin less brutal.

Human producer first. AI assistant second. The headset stays with a person.

What this means for clients

EventBlok is not a magic finished platform pretending to be bigger than it is.

It is a product in build, shaped by years of live event work and by the custom platforms I have already delivered. If you need a production-aware event site or hybrid platform now, I can build it with Next.js and Payload CMS. If your timeline fits the product roadmap, we can talk about an EventBlok pilot.

Either way, the thinking is the same: one system, fewer handoffs, better show day.
