Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data nicolae.tech collects, why, how it is used and protected, and the rights you have over it. It covers both the privacy notice and the use of cookies and similar technologies on this site.

Who we are

nicolae.tech (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is operated by Nicolae Tiberius, a live-event producer based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Nicolae Tiberius is the data controller for personal data processed through this site.

You can contact us about this policy or your data at any time by email at nicolae@nicolae.tech.

What data we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to respond to enquiries and run the site:

  • Contact details you provide — when you use the contact form or email us: your name, email address, and anything you choose to include in your message.
  • Booking details — if you schedule a call, the date/time and any information you submit through the scheduling tool (Calendly).
  • Technical data — limited information your browser sends automatically (IP address, device/browser type, referring page) and basic, privacy-respecting analytics about pages visited.
  • Preferences — your light/dark theme choice, stored locally in your browser.

How we use your data and our legal basis

We process personal data only where the law allows. The bases we rely on are:

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss potential work — legitimate interests, and/or steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
  • To arrange and deliver booked calls or projects — performance of a contract.
  • To keep the site secure and working, and to understand aggregate usage — legitimate interests.
  • For any optional analytics or marketing cookies — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device; we also use your browser’s local storage for preferences. We use as few as possible. Essential items are needed for the site to function; non-essential items load only with your consent.

AnalyticsOptional (consent)Aggregate, anonymised page-visit statisticsUp to 14 months

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and withdraw consent to optional cookies at any time. Blocking essential items may affect how the site works.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers (processors) that help us run the site, each under appropriate data-protection terms:

  • Email delivery — Resend processes contact-form submissions so we can receive and reply to them.
  • Scheduling — Calendly processes booking details when you reserve a call.
  • Hosting & media — Vercel (hosting) and Cloudflare R2 (media storage) host the site and its assets.
  • Analytics — if you consent, anonymised usage data is processed by the analytics provider.

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable follow-up period, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Contractual records are kept for as long as required by law (for example, for tax purposes). Preference data stays on your device until you clear it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected, or incomplete data completed.
  • Have your data erased in certain circumstances.
  • Restrict or object to our processing, including direct marketing.
  • Data portability, where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these, email nicolae@nicolae.tech. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.

Children

This site is intended for business and professional audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date below reflects the current version; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
